About Vendor

My son and I as the "Fiddling Thomsons" are the winners of the 2023 Governor's Arts Award for Folk Heritage, for the state of New Hampshire. Ryan has also been designated a 'Master Traditional Artist,' by The New Hampshire Council on the Arts We are multi-instrumentalists who have performed together for over 20 years on violin, fiddle, celtic wooden flute, banjo, guitar accordion, pennywhistle, ukulele, piano, and other instruments. We are reliable, sociable. and hard working. We perform variously as soloists, as a father and son duo, or we can add band members to create larger ensembles. We specialize in lively ethnic music: celtic, cajun, zydeco, bluegrass, Irish, Scottish, French Canadian, and more. We enjoy playing everything from back ground music for business functions and weddings, to main stage performances with a band. Our music is suitable for family audiences. We teach cajun dancing, and call contra and square dances. We've won numerous other awards for our music making, including a Boston Music Award Nomination for our cajun band, many banjo and fiddle awards, including the Northeast Regional award at the National Fiddle Contest, and the Twin Fiddling Award at the Lowell National Park fiddle and banjo contest. We have been invited for three separate tours to perform in China at the Meet in Beijing International Arts Festival. We have performed as the Fiddling Thomsons at the Bath Folk Festival in England, and at music camps in California. We enjoy gigs involving transcontinental and overseas travel. But most of our performances are in the New England area.
